what are these made from? and where can I get it

I like the hand rest model 2 piece. Theoretically if a bolt was used to join both pieces tightly, a take down model could be made. I think HDPE would hold threads if a 3/8 chamfered (stainless steel, and angled like a wood screw, got at nautical stores) stainless bolt were used and the bolt not tightened excessively, just enough to secure the two halves of the SS, threads would hold without stripping in time.
