My first aluminium core and micarta slingshot.
Put together from scrap around the house. Was meant to be based on the dorian template but it went it's own way. More a proof of concept excersise so I knew the process and what tools to use.
Bag for life burlap micarta on the front. Geological...
A couple guys have PM'd recently ... asking *how* i made my recent frames, which includes the DKC full size frame and DKC Torpedo, so i thought it would be a nice opportunity to showcase a couple pics of the process, along as creating good/enjoying content for the community.
I've had good...
So i was looking around the fabric store the other day, a particular piece of denim caught my attention. Instead of the plain white/blue denim, i went with the brown/dark blue (100% cotton) thinking it would look awesome!
But i realized once the fabric got wet from the resin, colors didn't...
Hey guys .. another one bites the dust
So i've always wanted to try carbon fiber material for slingshots, so i went online and looked around. Needless to say, carbon fiber flats are expensive! so instead i brought myself a 1m^2 of 2x2 twill weave carbon fiber cloth, which was obviously MUCH...
A few of you might remember a few days back I made an Aluminium Wrench with a green core for another member.
I was so pleased with the result that I found it hard to let go, so only one thing to do. Hit the workshop and make another.
This time I went for a Neon Green core for that bit of extra...
Well ... Christmas is right around the corner, and i thought i might as well make a Christmas color theme slingshot?
I know, i know .. i'm missing white, but grey is close enough!
and yes .. i used wood
Main frame: 6061 T6 (tempered) 9mm
Scales/Palmswells/Handles: African Hardwood, Padauk...
I knocked this one up today for a fellow forum member.
Made from 3mm aluminium sheet with a 3mm green acrylic core epoxied together.
I was pleasantly surprised to find just how well using the wood router with a solid carbide bit worked on rounding the edges of aluminium!
If you like the...
I've been making quite a few frames lately for fello members from trades etc, and i decided i would make myself one
It's been awhile since i've made a small-med sized frame, and Bill Hay's ArrowShot seemed perfert for my intentions. It's small/med, pocketable, shootable and...
I had some spare time today to finish off what i started two weeks ago.
It started off with a plate of 6061 T6, hack saw, bunch of black/red paper and epoxy resin.
This particular frame was quite time consuming and drove me nuts to the point where i nearly threw it on the ground in rage...
Tubes ........ are awesome! (inspired by popshot and MJ. Dangg itt )
I've been shooting a lot of tubes lately, and have found them quite pleasing to shoot once you get used to them.
So i thought i would make my own dedicated tube shooter specifically for double looped tube sets. Nooooo more...
Just thought i'd post my latest catapult. It's a aluminium hrawkeye with extended forks as for me the fork tips were just a little to thin (personal preference) banded with double red asda bands (cheap)
It didn't take long to make, just something that is strong and durable. I chose...
I have decided I would like to make an original pfs. I've been looking around for a pfd but can't seem to find anything to scale. I've seen pfsshooter's video on the sizing but would much prefer it if someone could point me in the right direction to find something to scale.
At the weekend, I decided to create a Mini-Hunter by Bill Hays! I have made one of these before but only out of plywood, whereas this one is aluminium!
I started by tracing my design on to the aluminium plate (1cm thick)
Then I began to carefully cut out using the jigsaw.
Made my first "ergonomic" frame this week, using the base of Geko's design.
I resized the frame so it could fit my hand, and now it's a fully functional slingshot frame.
It's thin, and light. Yet one of my favourite/most accurate frames i own so far.
The core of the frame is made from 6061 T6...
Today I have been making two pfs slingshots out of aluminium. I've never worked with aluminium and i'm new to making slingshots.
The one on the right is an "attempt" at Danny0663's pfs.
The one on the left, and in my hand is my own design! (sorry about blurry images!)
I've been busy for the last couple of Months, which lead me to a small side project of mine to suprise Hrawk with my homemade gift.
I'm sure a vast majourity of the members know or have seen this build log before: http://slingshotforu...__fromsearch__1
But you didn't know i was actually making...
Again a small slingshot. This one is actually my smallest one.
My phone doesn't take any good pics but you can still see it somehow. Also as size comparison there are A 9mm blank, 5 and 10 euro cent coins and my roller cutter (28mm I think).
