I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out. I've had the basic concept in mind for quite a while, but it took a bit for all of the elements to come together. The woods are, from the center out, Granadillo, Cherry (American), Rosewood, Maple, and Jobillo. The finish is the spray version of...
Hi guys! Well again trends are shifting and it seems the pickle fork shooter is raging at the moment and as a skint enthusiast I decided a build was needed. I have been doing a few searches and looking at all the existing PFS's for inspiration and sizing (nod in the way of Pawpawsailor)...

I've always thought of a 'laminate' as something that has 3 or more layers. So I'm not sure what you would class this as?
Anyway: a 15mm Karri with a 3mm maple face, topped off with a birdseye redgum swell and fork tips.
Finished with an oil based polyurethane.
I hope you all are enjoying Summer and vacations (if it's the case...)
I've just finished today a natural slingshot made of a quercus suber fork with a small handle bottom laminate of eucalyptus wood. It was finished with linseed oil and a coat of shellac.
A small update on my progress on making slingshots. Now that I have a bit free time I can enjoy shooting and making them

Things have slowed down around here for a couple of days, so here are a couple I made last month that I never got to post. One is for my brother, the other for my step-son.
The first is a walnut core with cedar on one side....and other woods I have yet to identify.
The second is tigerwood and...
Never tried splitting a natural fork before...I think I will give this to one of my other brothers in New Mexico.

A PFS made for the all in one swap for Uncle Charles. Iron bark frame, Aussie Blackwood spacers and fork tips and cypress swells. Aussie Blackwood looks very dark in some light but as you turn it, it appears a much lighter, golden colour.
My first go at a sandwich type laminate. rock maple core, brushbox sides with a beach swell. hehe and I'm here to tell you, it's not easy trying to split a 20*100*180mm board with a handsaw!!
