Just finished watching a 1991 Robin Williams movie "The Fisher King", in which an arrow was shot from a slingshot.

Does anyone know of an earlier movie (not YouTube) in which a slingbow was shown?

This is awesome, the Thwack is back I'm not a movie person, so sorry I can't help. Hope all is going well for you
Yes, all is going well for me buddy, many thanks.

I've been staying inside since the first announcement was made about the virus, even before the "stay-at-home" suggestions/orders came out. I'll be 75 in two weeks and I've got a lot of motorcycling to do, so I have no desire to get sick/die anytime soon. HOWEVER, yesterday I did sneak out and go for a neighborhood ride - the weather has been beautiful here in south Florida- and my Kawasaki was calling me "THWACK!" "Sweet THWACK!", "Please, please mount me and give me a run to keep my battery and tires in good shape". Well, I couldn't resist, especially since I wear a full face covering helmet.

I bought the bike when I was a young 73, for my 74th birthday, after a very long (4 decades) hiatus from motorcycle riding. It's a very handsome, aggressive-looking, sport bike/crotch rocket, and I believe that folks are surprised when I remove my helmet, not to see a 20-30 year old. Surprise!!

I'm the oldest "biker" in my club, and the only one who does not have a Harley or similar cruiser. I ride for the thrill, not the cruising.Maybe when I get "older" I'll want to settle down to comfy cruising...

Yes, I'm back, I'm like a "Whack-A-Mole" popping up unexpectedly, from time to time.

Good to hear from you, thanks again and please stay well.

The land of the lost is the first I can remember, Sleestak used something that looked like slingbowhttps://www.google.com/amp/s/legendsofthelost.tumblr.com/post/173141822244/holly-is-caught-getty-image-of-holly-kathy/amp
Only see an image of it on the reference URL.
It would seem that it wouldn't actually shoot any kind of projectile, it's just a prop, right?
Yes I think it's just a prop I do remember them shooting them in the show but I think it was just a special effect .

You be the judge if you think it's a actual weapon .
I think if they added feathers to the bolts they are using the sleestak weapon would work basically like a slingbow .
Somebody make one and let us know :)

Indeed, the "slingbows" shot very wimpy projectiles.

I've never seen this series. This kind of entertainment we used to call "camp" (or was it "campy"?) - rudimentary, just for fun, shlock.stuff. Enjoyed the many "special effects" which a third-grader could have made. When I was a kid, before the main feature at the movie theatre, we'd see an episode of "Commando Cody" - similar in cardboard structures . Check him out.

The actors deserve awards just for being on the stage set.

Thanks for the enjoyment and contributing to the History of Movie Slingbows!

Now, for the popcorn...

Hi Thwack, I like your bike and your motorcycle mechanic. Enjoy there ride as long as you can. I am now 81, gave up my last bike two years ago (Kawasaki W-650) two years ago and miss riding a lot. (The Lot 900 is a fantastic motorcycle! LOL). Stay safe and well.

Hi, Grandpa!

My motorcycle club, the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, had a retired NYPD member/WWII vet, who recently passed away at age 97. Up until his death he rode, the last few years on a trike.

You might consider a trike.

Keep safe!
