Thanks for the comments. It's oak and I used early american stain on it. It really brought out the grain.

I'd slot it in the growing list of my instant favorite naturals! I am impressed by the near perfect grain curves from that oak fork and you did a superb job bring in out the grain with your carving and finsih.
