well here is a pic of our new slingshots... from Tom "bunnybuster"... these are waaaay cool..
the 2 naturals are for my boys and are made from birch, the fork is made from 120 year old black walnut.. it is a beauty.

i have been shooting 3/8 ball bearings out of mine and the boys are shooting 1/4 ball bearings, out of theirs.. they're a blast to shoot...
both my boys being avid archers, took to it no problem..

many thanks once again Tom.. you are an amazing craftsman..

They are all very fine and I'd be proud to have any of them.....but I'm with Dayhiker on the thicker natural. For my taste and shooting style that one looks just about perfect.

BB gets extra points for using the old-school gum rubber. I've used it in the past (from the immortal Flatband himself) and loved it. I just moved on as I hate cutting bands. I would often think of the spirit of Rufus Hussey nodding his approval as I stretched my gum rubber elastics. As nice of catapults as BB makes I think he does himself justice mounting the gum on them, too.

I also like how BB works the naturals. To my knowledge he's the only commercial maker turning these out. I know there are some others who will trade or sell on occasion (I'm thinking the Teutonic Schluedern God Baumstamm here) but he's the only "commercial natural maker" and turns out a great product. If I were one who bought catties I'd buy one from him with no reservations. First-rate work!

Why, Thank you sir.
I take pride in all my slingshots...but even more so in my naturals.
I have been making them since I was 10 years old. Not for sale or anything, but for myself and friends, and of course my younger brothers.
Now , at 57 years old...I still love making the naturals with my own touch to accent them , just a little.
I remember my first natural , when I cut into my thumb with dad`s hacksaw, to make the double slot notches, like the old Wham-0 slingshots, back in the day.
I am feeling happy that people like my slingshots

The transitional gradient on the forks of the board-cut is simply gorgeous!
