Ok,
After the holidays, I am going to debut a custom, slingshot design, that is mine , totally.
You may have seen an example of one, but now I am going to start numbering them as (like),
The widowmaker..and hammermil.
Recently, I have gotten quite a few requests for these big frame OTT hunting slingshots.
I will be making them only from Hickory, and using gum rubber. A true American wood, and design.
Each one is numbered and certificate included .
These will go for a very reasonable price, for a fork that is virtually, indestructible, and able to launch just about anything that will fit through the forks!
I , and others< have tested this fork for durability, and accuracy.
A great all around slingshot, that will hold up forever? Hmmmm? Maybe.
This is ... ``Big Foot``.....A solid , big frame hunter.
This is a picture of the certified, #1, I made for Mike (on the forum).
Just like a hatchet or, tommyhawk ,and knife, it can be an essential survival tool in the wilderness.
Guaranteed...an efficient hunter, slingshot.

Looks like a good one Tom. You are absolutely correct in choosing the the hickory for your no-nonsense slingshot.

I have recently begun making and using larger slingshots with a minimum of 2 inches shooting gap. This allows me complete and total freedom, not to mention peace of mind, when shooting large stones and hex nuts. I also personally believe it's much easier to get your bands properly aligned and leveled when the fork tips are wider versus narrow. But that's just my personal belief.

I'd also like to add that I am currently (had to put it down to type this) working on a hickory pocket shooter of my own. I think hickory is the ultimate slingshot wood and BB's new offering here is another illustration of that!

Tom, I am honored to have Bigfoot #1 and am looking forward to putting it to good use with marbles, rock, hex nuts and big lead. This big shooter is truly an heirloom slingshot that I'll pass along to my son or daughter (only 3 and 6 now) someday. Can't wait to try it out.

Thanks,
Mike

Ahhhhh.......the prior post to mine is like music to my ears! I absolutely love the thoughts on ersatz ammo......they're all good. Got a kill yesterday with a marble at about 8 1/2 yards myself.

Keep us posted how it works out for you!

I sure will. Lately I've been experimenting with all kinds and sizes of the ammo mentioned above. Up to 3/4" hex nuts and marbles, rocks from the yard and large lead. All are great fun to shoot and really crush the pumpkins that we have leftover from the fall. I've been using a natural oak fork (3.5" between the forks) that I made to shoot them, but am looking forward to using the Bigfoot with this ammo. I have a number of Tom's others forks that I use with smaller ammo and all are great shooters.
