So far everything I’ve ordered has gotten here as advertised with one exception but it was the anti cold version of some rubber so no big deal. If it stretches I shoot it. @SiliconeSword has gotten that same rubber from that specific seller if I’m not mistaken. If it’s a risk you don’t feel like taking you can buy directly from the manufacturer/distributor for a couple bucks more but with peace of mind you’re getting 100% legit stuff.

AliExpress is tricky sometimes of it's fake some of it isn't. Some of the frames are the random cheap crap, but others are solid stainless steel that will last a lifetime.

I've bought from Octopus Hunting store and found them reliable.

Like anything make sure to check the reviews, theres alot of sellers selling the same stuff but some are shifty and youll usually see that through the reviews.

sometimes its people having a whinge because the cheap shitty thing was cheap and shitty but other times they bought a tv and received a calculator.

 

I did get messed around once with Piaoyu "store" there might be 3 or more stores using the Piaoyu name so don't quote me I can't guarantee the exact name. I got sent one poorly tied bandset and some string I didn't order in place of what should have been a Stainless steel frame, did get the money back.
Separately also been sent the wrong size frame from somewhere else.

Quite a lot of this was around COVID shipping/supply stuff I do think they are generally better behaved now.

Looks like TEMU might have taken over for the most dodgy random stuff.

 

I ordered from the octopus hunting store. 2m of Precise cyan anti freeze .55 latex and a thing of pit pouches for like $6.50.
That's just crazy when it cost me $20+ for a 2m roll of latex and 2 wrap and tuck thingys from our own country.
Crazy...

That stuff is really good, highly recommend it.

Simpleshot is good stuff but I only buy during the holidays because of the discounts. I don't get too hung up on origin country as guess what, latex isn't made in the states lol.

 

I know it comes from China. Not worried about that.
So many people have been ripped off by these websites and I'd rather not be one of them.

 

Found it interesting that I got a notification today that my pouches I ordered from AliExpress have arrived at the airport and have cleared customs.
I was half expecting the ole slow boat from China routine this go around. If the pouches and latex arrive before February, I just may order from there again.
How could I not with the price of latex being half of what it is here?
I love the electric white but if I can get two rolls for the price of one I can't pass it up.

 

Maybe prices vary, depending on the country your ip adress is in, or something. I have never seen latex at the same price, or lower than other sites on ali, always more expensive. The price of the one you link to in your first post in .5, is 12,7 USD. when i look 😅

 

I just paid $3.55 for it and got 30 pit pouches for $2.34.
Now that I've bought it the price is higher. It's still free shipping though which is great.

 

The only thing I buy from aliexpress are things I wouldn't cry over if it got lost in the mail or if I'm not in a rush to get it. So far I've had all my deliveries come in, at varying rates from just one week to two months. I get pouches, amber tape, sometimes latex sheets, and other odds and ends. I've only bought one frame off the site and it turned out decent.

 

I picked up a roll of .45, I'm interested in how this performs. What is strange is that if I log in, the price doubles on this, I did get it for $5.

 

When I got mine it was part of a winter sale.
Now the .55 cyan is $11.05 with free shipping. Still a reasonable price.

I'm amazed that I ordered those pouches on Jan 7th and they are already stateside as of last night Jan 10th. Hopefully they escape from LA. 🤣
I imagine most flights from overseas are re routed because of all the smoke.

Here's something I found interesting. If it only takes a few weeks for pouches and latex to get here, why does the AliExpress slingshots I'm looking at say delivery will take 1-2 months to arrive? Something doesn't sound right there.
If they have them in stock why can't they just ship them like everything else?

 

They may have a warehouse or holding facility somewhere here in the U.S. with bulk quantities of common items as well. At least that’s how I’d do it. I think it’d be less expensive that way.

 

I think it depends on where they ship from. I ordered a bunch of fountainpen parts, i think it said they was shipped from “mainland china” and not just china. Whatever that means. They took about six weeks to arrive.

 

They might be in Hong Kong which is separate from “Mainland China”

 

Ok. It's just weird that both my pouches and precise cyan are coming from China. Ordered on the 7th. Pouches are already in Indianapolis and Latex is in the air.
I saw that about those slingshots and wondered.
I want a Popeye. I'll just have to think on it.

I was so worried about the Chinese messing with me and come to find out both my pouches and latex both have made it to Indianapolis and USPS has marked both as will be arriving late. 🤣
Kind of a joke yet funny at the same time.

 

I just ordered a roll of .80 precise for two dollars shipped and it only took a week to get here. I also ended up ordering three other items under three other accounts for a dollar shipped. Looks like the octopus store won’t ship to the US now for some reason. That’s where I got my band material from a week ago and now it says I can’t ship to the US. They were all welcome deals. Tons of stuff for a dollar shipped they must just run specials for so long and then they bump the price back up.

Rubber might be hard to get for the next while. Hopefully things will go back to normal soon. Or someone starts making it in the US.

 

A lot of shops on AliExpress will not sell/ship to the U.S. as of right now. Not the ones that sell slingshot related things at least.
