Another day another squiz

Back out again, more breeze today which made it harder to spot those out of place movements and noises. I missed what should have been a sitter but believe I was over excited, pushed with my frame hand and pushed the shot left.
Came across another 15min later had to wait patiently for it to shuffle about it presented a shot but with the low sun behind through leaf cover wasn't easiest, the shot dropped it, but full disclosure this required a follow up bop with the priest to be done which is a lesson for all that aspire to hunt with basic equipment you must be prepared to finish them, rabbits can be stretched squirrels you want a priest a stout stick or possibly a good dog.

I don't consider myself an experienced catapult hunter yet I've only just started to make a serious effort at this, I am however seasoned with air rifle hunting. So believe the combination of solid learned field craft along with copious target practice is yielding results.
Took 15mm off bands active length following the last hunt, rechecked my hold overs before going out. My next outing may be with .395 lead not my slightly wonky 9mm.

Three in the fridge is a good meal.

I am tempted to try taking a natural out as it's the closest I will get to hunting with a bow I made (bow hunting illegal), but the flat frames do slip in and out a pocket very well and concealability is useful sometimes, I've had enough visits from the police after someone "saw a person in a field with a gun".
The grip on the EVO is excellent the 85 width fits my shooting style and also my smaller than Wayne Martin hands reccon I would be lost on a big one.
Also just think it looks nice.

Congratulations on getting yourself food & being a decent enough shot to do so.
Do lots of people eat squirrel where you live? I'm guessing your not in the US because you mentioned air rifle.

United Kingdom, eating Squirrels is the minority but like always you can also find it on gourmet menus??
Started going out now I consider myself a decent shot, but doesn't mean I won't still miss some. Will always be more reliable with the air rifles, however for the walk and stalk woods hunting catapults are excellent tools, nice to not be dragging a rifle through the woods, refreshing in the simplicity.

½" to far forward for perfection got an eyeball shot, but still got the job done.
Great post and nice shot. Especially liked the part about finishing them. And I couldn't help but notice the very nice mooch bag as well!

The bag is almost product placement Catty Shack product too, I needed a new bag and quite a lot of game bags are lacking useful pockets. Some things I might change about it and I have waxed it myself, but nice size and a good place to carry your things including the dispatch tool.
