Just got a new Simple-Shot Torque slingshot. The bands I requested are the black flatband latex .7mm thick. My draw length is 30". My question is will it hurt the bands if I shoot a little smaller than recommended steel. Band package from simpleshot says 7/16" and I normally shoot 3/8". Thanks in advance for the advice/help.

They will probably break quicker. Shooting bands that over power the ammo can result in hand slap also.

I think the bands from Simple Shot are 270mm (~10.63") in length; so, you can adjust the active length to account for lighter ammo.

I'd start longer, maybe 7.5" and then shorten if needed.

You can always shorten, but not lengthen ;-)
