I don't know why but I sometimes I loose my darn anchor point. It takes me a few shots to I guess refine it. And begin hitting again.
I really need to get a better, solid anchor. I shoot really well but when I can't find that anchor I feel like a doofus.
To get my aim point the top corner of my fork for OTT. I have to have a very high anchor at the top of my ear area. If not I hit about 5" high.
Anyone else have to have a high anchor like this? Scout LT frame.

I know exactly what you are talking about, not sure what goes on but every now and then I notice my shots are high. My anchor is right below my nostril and my second thumb joint against my cheek bone, hard to explain, but out of the blue, my shots are high, so I would have to adjust my aim down a few inches on target or raise my anchor to an uncomfortable/unnatural position to hit my target. Then, as suddenly as it appears, something changes and my shots are "normal" again. I am calling this phenomenon "hop up" because it reminds me of an airsoft gun hop up function. I don't feel like I changed my anchor, but none the less it's odd and weird.

That's it!
Its really odd. You feel great in your shot, then when you cut it loose, no target feedback....nooo not you again!
It takes some shots, and you can't understand what's going on. Then all a sudden on one shot it lands and you back in business.
Then I get to thinking to much about my anchor. Which is good. I need to get better at this and understand what's going on or find a more positive anchor.

There are guys like Bill hays at PP, or Nate over at SS that could fix you guys up. But if I had to bet, I'd go with something to do with your release. Probs letting that ball sneak down the backside of your finger causing the old "speed bump" problem. Just my guess, but that's where I'd look first.

Yes! ...I'm that sort of inconsistent shooter. Having said that though, I don't think it's the anchor. Something else has wandered... could be a slight tilt of the head, or a slouch of the shoulder or a firmer grip than usual on the pouch etc. Sometimes we may be shooting tired and that affects our form in ways we may not immediately perceive. My usual approach is to resort to instinctive shooting for a bit and it kinda auto-corrects...

That's excellent advice. Have to try that Bill.
Thank all of you for the help.

I have very little trouble with my left and rights. My problem is high. Not to much but enough. I measure tonight what happens when I get off my anchor. And it's about 1-2" high

For whatever reason. Maybe my build, I have to anchor with my pointer finger knuckle(big one) where my ear attaches to my head. To get to use my top fork tip as a aiming reference. Using the scout LT.

This seems high to me?
If I anchor like Nathan suggests as a beginner( corner of mouth) I hit probably a good 6-8" high and if under cheek bone it's about 4-5" high.
I don't have many spots it seems that I can anchor and the bands line up on top of one another naturally. If I use a natural posture.
Most anchors points on my face to get the bands to line up properly I have to tilt or lay my head over. And I don't like doing that if I don't have to.
