This method of attachment is sound, correct? Meaning, it doens't unduly wear the elastic?if you're talking about the Killdeer repro it uses the matchstick method,,.the band is folded over and some type of stop is inserted ie a matchstick..
eeeeewww, I wanted specifically to use the Thera band flatband in it.no it is safe and sound...and has been around for a long time..
but those slingshot were designed around gum rubber bands not theraband and not tapered bands...Flatband sells band made for this type of slingshot and I believe tex does as well...

No, your opinion did not clear it up. So i contacted the maker and they said it was ok to use the Therea band gold. Thanks for your opinion though.Ok thereaband is thinner than gum rubber the slots in the killdeer was made to work with that thickness of rubber, could you use mutiple layers of theraband to equal that thickness,,,probably...this frame once again was not designed to use with theraband stucturally it may not be wise to do so....if you want to try feel free, but don't blame the fork if it doesn't work....buy a frame that was designed to do what you want it to do.....so not to skirt anything I would say NO you should not use theraband on this frame... You SHOULD use gum rubber the material that this fram was designed for. hope that clears thing up.

Ya, it was all clarified in a mail that wasn't posted here. It's ok and all is well.OK do what you want but this is from Pete Hogan the maker you contacted...in this he says you should buy the correct bands from Flatband "Gary" or Tex. I'm sorry my answer is not what you wanted to hear, use theraband if you want, overpower the frame if you want. Who knows it might work, best of luck.

Thanks for the advice. In my experience there is always some slipage with the match stick metod and if the cutted end of the elastic become too short You can get a bad face slap. If you use a match, or a metal pin (I cut them from stainless nails) it is safer if you gave two or tree turns of string where the rubbers are doubled before the fork's hole, with costrictor knots. It does not affect anyway the shooting
