I make sure everyone of our nieces, and nephews carry pepper spray for self defense. I’m now looking for a loud ear piercing device to help attract people to a bad situation. Once they are old enough, it’s firearms safety course. That is only if they feel comfortable carrying a self defense weapon.

They got those safety whistles, and personal alarms.

I'd say a whistle as well.

There cheep as on eBay no batteries to go flat etc.

I keep my van key on a string round my neck so I don't lose it on site and so I can lock my van and take the key with me when I'm surfing.
Having once needed to attract the attention of a life guard and failed I now have a whistle on the string as well so I've always got it with me.
I've also got one on the front zipper of my waterproofs and ski jacket.

A friend of mine has a couple extra whistles from being a referee. I never thought of getting a whistle that doesn’t take batteries. Thanks for your replies

Fox 40's are meant to get above soccer crowds and in the marine section of most stores you can get distress whistles that dang near break glass.
