Hello friends,

I'm looking to order a Uniphoxx and trying to decide whether to go for the clips as well. Searched the forum and there is a lot of good feedback on the frame I couldn't find much discussion of the clip option that wasp offers.

I really like the simple shot metal clips on my scout. Wondering how the Uniphoxx plastic clips compare. Are they pretty sturdy? Will they hold onto a heavier band set? Should I just skip them and wrap and tuck instead?

Any info is appreciated!

Looks like they might be OK - the brass inserts are a plus. They're inexpensive, might as well include them in your order.

Wrap & tuck is not your only option - you can tie on with clear ribbon which IMO, is a cleaner look.

I used stainless Chicago Screws on my Ice Phoxx but it requires punching a small hole near the band ends ... I'm happy with it.

I have a UniPhoxx with Wasp clips. I don't have any other clips to make comparisons with but the clips are robust and well made. Their design has been properly thought through rather than being a cheap adjunct I would say.

Possibly if you're intending on using a double bandset the clips would be insufficient, for everything else I wouldn't have concerns. And as Alfred has already said, if you're paying the UK to US shipping, may as well include them with your order.

Looks good. What sort of tool did you use to punch the holes in the bands?
I use a rotary leather hole punch on the smallest anvil. For looks, it's important to center the hole, or the band will position off center. Some just make a small slit with an Exacto knife.

Thx S-N-S. I usually need a severe ergo or palm rest to limit dreaded frame twist in my Rachmaninoff mitts. Ebay sells rubber feet, mostly black, for amps and electronic equipment - in this instance, I ran a small bolt thru 2 translucent feet for stability - not for everyone but very comfortable for me. (The shipping suddenly spiked from $3 and 3 day delivery - don't know if I'll order any more).

Thank you all very much, Great information from everyone! I'm going to go ahead and get them and maybe another frame while I'm at it. Like several of you said, may as well get my money's worth from the shipping cost.

I'm going to try out your method too, Alfred I really like how low profile that setup is compared to the flip clips
