Hi again,

Been using plugs this way. Not sure that I've seen it before and it seems about opposite to how you're supposed to use them from what I've seen. The fork and wrap damage are a result of my own inexperience, not the plugs fault. Curious if this could somehow harm the bands or cause innacuracy. If not, I find it far better than the "right" way since it is more consistent in my experience.

The problem with setting plugs this way is that every time you pull and release, you have the momentum of the bands and the pouch flying forward and, little by little, pulling the plug out of the hole. You CAN still shoot this way, but this is a problem you'd inevitably run into if you shoot enough without resetting the plugs.

Thank you for that. I think that's a risk I'm willing to take if that's the only downside. Haven't noticed any movement after a lot of shooting. Have to grease them with alcohol and push them all the way otherwise the thing spits them out just sitting on the table.

It's hard to take any frame crotch shot serious, but I'll try.

As above, you run the risk of them coming out. I wouldn't let anyone I know or care about shoot it in that setup, but you are free to take a chance.

That frame is begging for looped tubes and the only way I'd shoot it.

Sorry, I did not think about that but thank you. It honestly didn't even cross my mind. The crotch shot I mean.

Yes, I know its made for looped tubes but I do not enjoy the ones it came with and am waiting on supplies. I alternate between it and mini ttf and find I'm a bit more accurate even with this goofy setup.

Thanks to you and everybody else for explaining why what I'm doing is wrong. I haven't had any issues with the plugs shooting out but I'll be trying out every advice to be on the safe side.

"WRONG" Might be too strong a word. I would say something more gentle like, "courting disaster ", "Asking for trouble", "setting yourself up for pain" etc.---Dan, the soft spoken.;)
