Hello Slingshot Forum Friends!!
This time, I present my most recent and long-awaited knife acquisition, the legendary Buck 110 folding knife.
I'm sure you're all aware of this BEAUTY of a pocket knife (mostly you U.S. folks) and I'm not posting anything new. I just wanted to share with you guys my overwhelming JOY in owning one of this!! I'm truly satisfied with the QUALITY of this classic knife!
Who said a folding hunter knife can't have the CLASS and STYLE of a gentleman's pocket knife?? If I had to pick one example to illustrate these two qualities mashed up, it would be the Buck 110

Outerwear Road surface Sleeve Wood Asphalt
Musical instrument Leaf Natural material Wood Musical instrument accessory
Wood Underwater Marine biology Soil Algae

Its heftiness and weight are nothing short of a smooth lined design. The Buck 110 displays refinement even for an industrial, non-handcrafted product. The materials are of good quality, brass bolsters/frame and authentic Ebony handle scales. The way that all of these elements are built and put together is almost flawless. Hence, in its closed position, you can't detect any rough or sharp edges on the knife (which can be quite forgiving for your pockets when EDC'ing it)

Plant Leaf Asphalt Grass Rectangle
Natural material Wood Tool Knife Grass

The real deal of this knife (i.e., its blade action) is AWESOME!!! Although it is not made of the finest steel quality there is, the Buck 110 comes with a very sharp blade out of the box. Almost razor sharp!! I haven't tested it yet properly, but the first paper-cutting tests were amazing. It is a real slicer, mostly due to its blade grind configuration. The lockback of this knife might be its pièce de résistance. Absolutely FLAWLESS and SECURE!! Certainly one of the best I ever had, and I had (and still have) quite a few lockbacks. No blade play whatsoever on this Buck 110!!

Its specs are:
Blade length: 9.5cm
Handle length: 12cm
Handle thickness: 1.5cm
Blade thickness: 3mm (at the spine)
Weight (in grams): 205

Thanks for watching my new toy!! :D
Cheers ...Q

The buck 110 is my favourite knife. My dad bought me one for my 12th bday and I've been carrying it ever since.
That when I got my 110 on my 12 birthday in 1976. Closed it on my finger a day later. Still carry it now in a cross draw holster on my back right hip. The knife, not the finger.

I love the old classics !
There's nothing on this pocket knife that I don't like!!

Great choice of wood for the scales, awesome brass bolsters and frame, excellent and smooth action on the blade (perfect lockback)

To tell you the truth, I don't have much fondness for "new" materials in knives. I see a knife as a tool but also as an object of art or an handicraft.

And this Buck meets functionality with beauty!!

Thanks for watching, my friend!!

Best regards ...Q

Those are sweet knives for sure. They work as good as they look :)
First thing I've noticed on the Buck 110 was the fact that it is a workhorse of a knive/tool!!

Further bushcraft tests will ensue ;)

Thanks for the feedback!!!

AMAZING gift it was, I'm sure!!!

Who's the man/boy that doesn't like a proper pocket knife??

I had a Spanish replica of the Buck many years ago, very well made. It was from Muela knives.

Spain is a big producer of pocket knives and since it borders my country, it is very common to acquire Spanish pocket knives here.

Anyway, it was stolen or lost. Didn't figure which until today...

So I had this thing of buying a real Buck. And here it is!

Thanks for the reply!!!

Cheers ...Q

Uncle Henry (schrade) made an over-built version of the Buck original. It is a useful style. I remember 'hard-heads' used to wear the pouch upside down for a quicker draw/release.

This kind of holster looks amazing, badass and very ingenious.

But doesn't the knife rests in it somewhat open??

I've wanted a Buck 110 or one of the old large Kershaw lock backs for years. Struggle to justify the cost of them. The pro series 110 is insane but at $130 before shipping its a big spend.

How you get this one - eBay?
Hello my friend, how're doing?? How's everything??

Glad you've stopped by. Thanks!!

Actually, I've ordered this one from a Spanish online shop.

The price with shipping was 83 Euro. Not a bad deal for such an awesome pocket knife, which can last you a lifelong.

Also, it came with an genuine leather holster. The funny thing is that the holster might be capable to carry a slingshot too! :D

I'll send you a PM with the shop's name, for your own curiosity's sake.

Best regards ...Q

I'm doing great - we need to try meet up soon!

I spent so much money as a kid on the cheap Pakistani rip offs of those - they never held an edge and the blades worked loose after a few months. But they were cheap and getting the little branded box and the knife wrapped up in waxed paper inside was always a good day. As a result this style of knife has always been a favourite - and I'm keen to track down 'the original'.

I was able to open my 110's open with a wrist snap. Takes some practice ... be sure it doesn't fly out of your hand while learning to do it.
