I found this a few years ago and used it quite a bit for figuring down range energy of my ammo and comparing the figures. As an example if you compare a 5/8" marble going out at 250 fps and a 3/8" steel going out at the same velocity at about 30 yards or so the 3/8' ball has more energy and is going much, much faster.

Now in reality your marble may be in the 235 fps area and the 3/8" steel may be in the 250+ range so the outcome will be more dramatic ! This program does not take into account momentum, where the heavier projectile almost always wins even though it is going slower.
