I have a couple of older spinning reels, one before the WWII, but this is the only one that I could put my finger on right now. I just got this one and to my surprise it was unused. The grease in side had turned to Tar and I had to remove some of it before it would work right. I added a couple of drops of oil so that the leftover old grease will rejuvenate some. This one is probably about 1950 era As you can see it also has a velvet drawstring bag. Just a beautiful old reel by a american legend company. This little conveyance of thought with little squiggly lines is one of gods miracles that we use every day.

Really nice find Tex. I've always got my eyes open at estate sales. I ran up on this old Johnson a while back. Not perfect but it works great.

Well here is a tidbit, many years ago I sent Johnson a idea about using magnets in fishing reels! Well I never heard from them, but they used the idea. Never had much use for them after that!
