So I've been bending wood since I was about 16. My grandpa taught me to build long bows when I was a lad. I made a couple before he taught me to make a recurve bow. That's when I learned magic! I use it to my advantage when making slingers too! Check it out! Notice the lines from pen. It will definitely show the bend to the untrained eye.

If you put a bar through the loop you can twist the rope like on the torsion powered catapults. Get it where you like, push the bar down down along the crutch to keep it from unwinding and proceed. That's gonna be nice!
I didnt think about that! Thanks for the tip! Will definitely come in handy next time!

I got it from an O.P. Chocktaw tradition. When a son is born, the father will chip an ax head and bind 2 branches around it so that it would grow around it. When he was old enough to face his trials, he would have a weapon that was his alone.
That's awesome! I might have to try that someday!

How thick of a diameter can we bend? Can you write up a step by step tutorial? or send out a link?
Rule of thumb is per 1"thickness at least 1 hour of steam. I can definitely write something up for sure. Thought about making a video tutorial on some tricks I've learned.
