Yesterday I made the best sheath I have made to date. I have a ways to go to rival you guys but it is a high water mark for me so I am proud of it The only issue is that I made it backwards and it is therefore left handed...

So if there is someone out there who is 1 left handed and 2 in agreement that this is a use able sheath let me know and I will send it to you. The knife is a 3 inch bladed Walmart special but it is now wicked sharp (I can sharpen better than I can work leather) the handle could use some contouring but for a small utility knife it works. Would like to keep it in the USA as I am not keen on shipping a blade abroad.

Also if anyone has any tips that will make my next sheath better lay it on me

thats a good sheath,i[almost] always cut out a paper template and put it togethor first because it is Really easy to get backwards when working with leather [or kydex] if your paper template comes out backwards just reverse the folds,lolthen make your cuts,you can also use a shrpie to make a dot on interior sides.i love stitching up sheaths,and some come out pretty good keep at it,it only gets better

I think what I did was make the paper template correctly and when I transferred it to the stiffer card board that is where I flipped it. Oh well live and learn

You inspired me Raventree78 to make a sheath for my Original Skaard Cutter! I used a piece of an old leather powerlifting belt for the sheath. It is really stuff and sense so I had to soak it so I could crease it. I used hot water mixed with vegetable oil. Not sure why I chose that, but it worked. I put in in the vice for a few days so it could set. Then I used the drill press to make my stitching holes. Then I just used a saddle stitch with waxed string. A loop of paracord and she is good to go! It was my Shop knife, now it is my Truck-n-Trail knife!

Hey... This has become a cool DIY knife sheath thread! I have only ever made one... Threw it together out of necessity to give a "Kiridashi" I acquired a home so it can be thrown into my toolbox. This little blade is is my "forever exacto" (it's sharper than any exacto tho! ). I picked it up recently in Tokyo. It's hand forged with "Aogami" carbon steel so it'll take and retain a wicked edge.

I used some buffalo nubuck I had been using for slingshot pouches and learned how to saddle stitch on the fly... not a very neat stitch but it'll do... I think I should have given it a welt as well - maybe if this one comes apart, I'll do it again properly.

i was hesitant to post this,and im not trying to hijack the thread,but after seeing urban shooters pics i had to post this.In my opinion the Kiridashi is the epitome of blades,ithe grace and simplicity of its form,the functionabilty,and style is,of all the blades i have or have had,my favorite.i made this one for a girl friend,who is an artist,out of a worn out Nicholson file,gutted paracord handle wrap,and its sheath is actually a poplar and red oak box. Hope this post will be ok with you my friend.She Loved it

Wow! That's a gorgeous Kiridashi! I love the subtle texturing on the surface from the file and the grind looks really good. Any artist would really enjoy using this. I agree it's the epitome of functional simplicity! You guys are amazing with what you are able to craft and you do it so darned well. Respect!!

Wowzers that is a sweet blade skarrd, I like that style of blade a lot but it is the one style that I have yet to own. I love the paracord work and that box is super nice too. Just the total compilation is amazing
