Natural? Board cut? I dunno.

I found a dry birch burl in my stack ( I save them when I cut firewood) I figured I would make a fork out of it with the bandsaw I found at the dump the other day.

Everything worked.

I stained it dark walnut which I probably will not do again, but it does not look bad.

Enjoy. Hopefully posting next to food soon.

Looooking Gooood!! IMHO Mother Nature is thee artist that all others can only try to come close to as far as quality of materials and design....yet it is soooo much fun in trying to create a "thing" from what we find in her bounty of raw materials :) :) :)

Love that grain, and I think the dark stain looks just fine........it actually helps to accent the lighter colored rays

in the grain.

VERY NICE.............

you are right way, staining birch burl brings out that nice flaming effect :) nice work bud!
