THIS IS FOR DANNY

breaking 1.8 cm thickness bamboo cutting board with crossbar reinforcement

and 2.2 cm thickness very tough oak floorboard x2 with no defect

please use common sense when making slingshots, this test does not prove their strength

biased verdict, bamboo when properly glued can be tougher than oak board at it's weakest point

You have to be a single guy doing that kind of a test, my mom, or later in life (wife), would
kill me if I marked up the floor or put a crack in it from doing that way.

Interesting. I noticed the Boo cutting board had supporting end pieces with the grain running perpendicular to the main board. This multiplies the over all strength tremendously. That's why the cutting board is designed this way. Remove those end pieces and that Boo will break easy. When it comes to wood strength its all about the direction of grain. Ask any martial artist who breaks boards with his hands.

I know from my experience making and flying kites, what amazing material bamboo is. Lucky to have been taught by Japanese and Malaysian aces. You may not know you can heat-form and heat-temper bamboo. At a kite workshop in China it was wonderful to see each workbench have a spirit lamp to tweek the bamboo. Would be fun to see woodnstuff shaping a bamboo boo! Might have to be me.

thanks for your comments all, but judging the strength of the oak i have zero chance to break it with fist

shattered my knuckles many times over doing stupid things in the past

kids please don't try this at home
