Rasping away at this buckthorn natural while I’m at work on lunch. It’s the largest slingshot I have tried making in a long time, I love those minis! But I have really been wanting to try a through the fork lately, so here we go! I’m thinking I’m going to put a spalted maple burl slab on the back, and maybe spalted oak on the front, I have to go through my junk bin tonight and see what I can find

Thanks guys, it's something to pass the time away on slow nights
Every truck I every owned had its own built in fold down bench. Right above the rear bumper.
Lol I see what you mean now, but I had something else in mind and I am going to make a little workbench for the back of my truck and keep a few of my hand tools and sharpening stones in there

Now were cooking with some heat.

Keep me posted on the truck bed sling shot box.

Depending where you park you might attract attention.

We have enough contagious viruses in the world right now. Lets keep the sling flu contained.

If passer byers are intrigued you might end up with a teaching job before you know.

Saw dust is mans glitter.
Have heard this quote more than a few times.....so true, love it as there's just something "natural " about carving on a natural

I dont wear cologne. but if they ever came up with some that stink like campfire, Pine cones, BBQ charcoal smoke, or the new car smell from a 65 nova or super sport.

Ive had difficult choices while trying to pick out what stink I want to smell like as a burly bearded man something says I dont want to smell like ocean breeze, passion fruit or spring breeze. We men live in tough times.

Got home from work early enough that I had motivation to pick it back up, I finished rough shaping with files and got my band grooves carved in, I ended up picking out two pieces of highly figured oak for the palm swells, now it’s all glued up and it will be waiting for me when I finally find time again lol
