Well for starters this timber is dense!, but at the same time is a great timber to shape with and work by hand. Not only is it dense, its also hard; to my feel, hard as jarrah, yet denser...It's weight tells the story as soon as its picked up, feels solid and heavy...finished to 400 grit, and satin poly'd after a felt buff
Shaped as always by hand, this has to be my fav shooter to date, holding straight bands cut at 10" tied @ 12mm; 260 fps is available with great band life... cheers all, Ben
Hey thanks everyone! Yea I'm pretty happy with this one, thanks all for the kind comments... I thought it it may be gaboon ebony from wst africa, but i could be wrong, will have to confirm that one lol! Cheers all, Ben
