Hey again! So, earlier this week, I was at a piece of property I bought recently and noticed this red cedar fork on the side of the road. It had obviously been beaten pretty bad with a bushhog and I knew that I had to have it. Lol. The forks were nice and solid. I took the fork home and removed as much bark as I could. Then, I wrapped the whole thing in a makeshift mold of masking tape. I mixed some casting resin and dyed it jet black and poured this into my mold. After adding a ton more tape to take care of all the leaks I ended up having, I placed it in my pressure pot overnight to remove the bubbles. After all this, I was able to work it like any other fork. I sketched this hammergrip design for it and got to work. After shaping and sanding to 320 grit, I went over the surface with scotch brite. Finally, a couple coats of clear coat were added. I'm really happy I was able to bring new life to this seemingly trashed fork. I love being able to do that. Thanks for looking!
