So if any of guys see my posts, I’ve been making my own shooters for about a solid month now.

I started with some spare plywood I had lying around but quickly found out that I didn’t like the wood then I had a struck of luck and found some solid oak and made some solid shooters.

Yesterday when I went to the inner coastal to do some fishing with my best friend, I found some natural y and had to grab it! I’m not sure of the wood but it’s strong as can be and these are officially my first natural shooters. Really proud of theses shooters 😁 don’t have a solid name for the second one yet but I’m sure I’ll come up with something 😄

Got a name now! The“ Salty Dog“

I also made 2 more smaller shooters on Friday and they came out great as well! So in total I made 7 new slingshots this week 😅 sorry I don’t have progress photos my phone was out space but I hope you guys like the end result 😄

The “ Golden Goose “

The “ rib-eye”

It is apparent you have a serious problem on your hands and there's probably only one way to deal with it,,,,,go to the nearest bookstore and find the bestseller " Book of Names" and buy it. Don't pass any trees on the way!
😂😂😂 i might turn that book into a shooter too! 😭😭😭 I had an idea to see if it’s possible to make a shooter out or cardboard and hot glue. I thought it would be a good challenge but idk how well it will hold up.

Yeah, building your own is easily as addictive as shooting them. It's great to see the progress you've made from the first frame you made as well.

I got hooked in August of last year and have banged out about 2 dozen frames since. There is something deeply satisfying in making something that is both creative, useful and fun to use.

Right?! Lol

I really enjoy the whole process and it’s super relaxing for me. I also retired the first 3 I made because they just don’t compare to the shooters I’ve been bangin out mainly because of the quality of wood and technique.

it’s been a fun low key painful learning experience for me with all the fun little cuts and gashes I’ve gotten from a slipped saw and knife while whittling the frames 😭😭😂

And thank you! Im really proud of my recent frames 😄

Fine job on those frames and naturals are about all I build, so you definitely got my attention

Be sure you are also posting all of your builds for 2023 in the frames built in 2023 thread.

We are trying to get the count up this year as we have had 418 the last two years in a row.

Thanks man 😁 🤟🏾 Tbh the one I call ol betsy is one of my favorite to shoot! Next time I go to the inner coastal I’m definitely gonna get some more pieces to make some more!

For the 2023 build thread, where would I find it? I didn’t see it in the thread list.
