I went from 3/8" ammo to 1/2" and now I'm experiencing fork hits.

Before I had none.

Any suggestions from shooters with more experience than me?

Thanks!

If you are shooting over the top then simply hold your shooter angle forward by 15 degrees or more. Dont change anything else.

Over the top? Do you mean holding the SS upright or do you mean bands coming over the top of
the forks?

I shoot ganster style I guess you'd call it. The forks are at a 90 degree angle. Slingshot is parallel to the ground length wise.

Thanks for the help. 1/2" ammo really damages your forks. Yikes!!!

Most likely the bigger ammo is causing you to release the pouch differently. Make sure you are releasing the pouch evenly.
You could be correct here now that I think about it.

Thanks for your help!

MORE practice tomorrow.

I'm averaging several hundred shots an evening now from 100 shots
per evening. Effeciency and accuracy have gotten better.

3/8" to 1/2" is quite a jump. You just have to adjust, and it may take some time. I started out with 3/8", moved to 7/16", then to 1/2". Each time I switched, I would be off target by an inch or two. So from making such a drastic change, expect a longer adjustment period.

You know something... I've never had a fork hit. But my Daughters have had plenty.
I've noticed that what's happening when they do hit is they're out of alignment. When using the side shooting style, the slingshot is tilted, narrowing the clearance distance between the forks. All you have to do to prevent fork hits is " -> : ". Also video yourself and look at what you're doing... it's easy to fix from there.

He really doesn't need to go through that much effort. His fork hits are a product from the size difference of the ammo. The brain becomes programmed from repetition. When you jump to a bigger size ammo, your brain doesn't know there is a bigger shot in the pouch yet. So it takes more repetition to acclimatize. Don't let it get in your head, it's as trivial as that.

Slingman, at least you're giving yourself some time to get accustomed to the change in ammo size. At last years ECST,I was shooting 1/2" ammo having upped from 3/8" around 2 months previously and it reeked havoc with me. My score last year was 82 shooting 1/2". My score the previous year was 118. I gave it the good "College" try even after the shoot- continuing with the 1/2", but about 3 weeks after the shoot, I had enough and went back to 3/8". I just couldn't get comfortable shooting the larger size stuff. I spoke to Blue Skeen and he said stay with what is good for you. He loves 12 mm. Jay swears by 9/16",Tex 1/2",I think Jack Koehler also went back to the 3/8" size after trying 1/2". The reason I tried it in the first place was to get a better carry on longer range targets. From my experience the 3/8" won't hold as good as 1/2" at distance. Good luck with the change Bud. I hope it'll work for you. The way your practicing, you could probably shoot Cheerios and do well!! I am super weird and love shooting the trumark white marbles. I cannot shoot anything better. They do however do poorly in the wind.
