Great idea. Made something similar but manual turn. I didn't think my cordless would have enough power. Definitely gonna try

Nothing worse than rusty balls! 🤣

The drill works a treat, I've done this to clean up bolts and stuff. Crushed walnut shells work pretty well as abrasive. 👍

Turned out looking good as new! In jewelry a little stainless steel shot is used along with some tumbling soap. I think it’s just powdered ivory bar soap because it produces fewer suds. I use Rustoleum which works exceptionally well, but it does take away the shine, which I’m not too too concerned about. I leave a little jar of Rustoleum on the shelf and just pop the rusty shot in whenever I find it.

I use a product called "Barkeepers friend", that'll bring the shine back on any steel shot that's dulled. It's a convenient mix of Oxalic and Citric acid powder. If mixed with a little water to create a slurry, it'd work really well in a tumbler. 👍

It's also great for removing swarf from sharpening stones.

To store my shot I use vedgetable oil, simply pop them into a pot and bobs your uncle.

Can anyone remember the old milbro shot, it was covered in tiny dings similar to a golf ball, it was supposed to help them travel further.
