It's all right there in the title, ladies and gentlemen.

I wanted to develop a PFS that melted into the hand. I started with the OPFS, thinned the profile and then scalloped matching thumb ramps on top to make this bad boy ambidextrous, which to me is always a plus.

The top was left flat and the bottom was rounded for comfort, I really like the way this sits in the hand.

Cocobolo, filed and sanded by hand to 600, then coated in beeswax/orange oil combo and finished with 0000 steel wool. Super silky.

Looks beautiful. Are you sure that is cocobolo though? Looks much more like bocote to my eye.
Thank you.

They're close, it's hard to tell. You may just be right, but it was labelled cocobolo at the wood shop. Hm..
It popped into my head because I always get the names confused myself, but the two woods look nothing alike. Cocobolo is all fire orange and purple and black with edges of creamy sapwood. Bocote has stripes and is kind of a yellow and black. It looks all the world like bocote to me, and NOTHING like cocobolo. I am always prepared to be wrong though. *shrug* This is the cocobolo I know:
