Good morning fellow slingshooters. This post is going to be a bit pic heavy because I want to show my progress in craftsmanship. I think I finally got the hang of gluing on caps.
This fork is carved from swamp maple that grows like weeds around here. Same as my last two. The forks are capped with Red Oak, and the butt is capped with Wild Cherry, which also grows prolifically around here.
The fork caps are pinned with 3/16" brass rod.
And the buttcap is pinned with 1/8" stainless steel.
The finish is 5 coats of CA glue.
I just strapped it up with some TBG tapered from 3/4 to 1/2 inch. Haven't shot with it yet, but this hefty piece is capable of handling anything you wanna put on it.
