I recently was asked by a forum member to carve a frame up for them from Desert Ironwood. I got the chunk from the member the other day and cut it into blanks. At the same time I rembered that I had an old twisted up board from a very old Dogwood tree. It is extremely rare to get any boards from a Dogwood as they just don't get that big and thick. I was able to get 4 boards out of that plank. I won't plane them flat because they'll be too thin they are so warped. I'll just work them like this so they'll be a little "Gnarly". Should make some fine frames if I can work aound that big knot. The Ironwood, well that's another story. Always an interesting challenge working with that stuff!
