Good call Dog! Maple makes a gnarly sling. I don't have Alder, Ash, or Yew. If I did we'd be swapping!

What type of fork do you have laying around?

I am collecting Oak right now because it is everywhere in my new home. Still learning the ropes of the Natural. I've been locked into thinking that I needed to spend $150 to get a 'real' slingshot.

Do you mind swapping some oak since you get a lot down there? I have not seen oak trees here in mid west. (Not to say there aren't any, just tougher to grow)

I'll go hunting for a nice piece that is actually dry. The forks that I just collected look like they have been on the bottom of a lake for a couple of years. I am not ready to try the 'microwave' dry until my wife goes on another long business trip! Keep your post up and see if anyone here has some Yew. I just saw a finished piece coming my way and it is a stunning piece of wood. I'll hit you back with a dry fork a.s.a.p.
