My wife and I pick our 4 year old niece up from pre-K at school. For a little surprise my wife went in to get her. There is a lock code on the door to get into her classroom. Once my wife gets in the room a substitute teacher walks up and ask her for a picture ID. My wife goes back to the car and gets her license. When she returns to the classroom the teacher can’t find her name on the people who are listed to pick her up. My wife comes back out to the car, and tells me I need to go pick her up. I get into the classroom and the substitute teacher starts apologizing. I finally get to speak, and I tell her “Do Not Apologize For Doing The Right Thing” Thats why this world is in the disarray it’s in. A bunch of cry babies don’t want to follow the rules. I thanked the teacher for making sure our niece got picked up by the correct people.

So true when I worked at a juvenile boys camp I had a new staff member working the gate when our director show up he doesn't where a uniform like the rest of us and he is denied entry I see what going on and call on the radio to let him in and then had to explain to our director that he was doing the job that he was trained to do by me and should get a pay raise because others may have let him in.

yes she was doing her job,its a shame there are that many bad people out there that would hurt kids but she was just protecting the child and herself. she would have to live with herself if your wife was a bad person and harmed your niece, i wouldnt want to be the person who handed a child over to a bad person.its up to all of us to protect kids so they can become adults, and have kids one day themselves.its good to see tag you took the approach you did some idiots would have jumped up and down and caused a scene because she didnt give the child to your wife credit to you and your wife for being sensible people and understanding regards robbo

I gave the substitute teacher a thank you card when we picked up our niece yesterday. Nothing fancy, just a card that said Thank You on the front and blank in the middle. I wrote how much we appreciated her doing the right thing and for her to be very proud of herself. At the time I didn’t realize she is a Senior at the school and is going into teaching I’m 68 and frankly I’m tired of disrespectful people who treat a person trying to do the right thing like they are the problem.
