Fall Harvest - Forks

742 Views 12 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  SLING-N-SHOT
Mrs. Raja and I were cleaning up the yard, including removing dead branches and tidying up the wood pile. A few forks jumped out at me.

Thank you Mako Pat for the saw. Cuts like butter!

That harvest has a lot of variety, BR.

It should provide a lot of entertainment as you work those into shape!

Thanks KawKan.

I tried a bunch of times to make a plywood slingshot. I went through my efforts today and I think I have 1 that may be shootable. I must have had forks on my mind - as I was sawing wood, I kept seeing them. I am going to try Alliance 117s on the slender forks. I started hacking the huge fork with my hatchet and will probably go after it with a wood chisel next. There is a frame in there, I just need to liberate it. I am not expecting too much from this batch - most are pine and a couple are scrub oak. But like you say - it should keep me entertained.
Cam only tell you one wood ther a know and its birch ????

Wish we had birch in Colorado. I live on the high plains - pine trees and scrub oak. Aspen in the mountains, though. Not sure if it works for slingshots.
