I've been having a ton of fun shooting 6mm steels lately and thought it would be fun to start a thread for those among you doing the same or similar. This isn't a contest thread although one might become of it lol.. This is just to show off your small ammo (airsoft,.177 BB's, 6mm steel etc.) setups and what you're doing with them. I myself am punching paper at between 21'-33' with my @MakoPat Colt x 1632 loops, a leather Warrior pouch & 6mm steels.

So what are you guys flinging the little stuff with?

What is holding the steels, exactly?

Sure, its 5" tall, has a 3" fork width and a 1-1/4" fork gap. Thanks for looking.

I'm assuming there's a magnet on the lanyard holding the steel.

Here's a pretty good look at my BB Shooter collection. I've got a couple others banded up for small ammo, but these are the ones I consider BB Shooters. They're all small and disappear in the hand or the pocket with ease. I was shooting the two gappers on the left the most frequently, but now it's a combination of MakoPat's Pickle Bone PFS and Skaard's Boo Shooter. I use .177 and 1/4" steel, mostly shooting cans. No catchbox, no setup, no fuss.

@MikeyLikesIt you're right its a magnet, & those are some sweet shooters there. Do you try to recover your ammo at all or you look at it as disposable haha? I sort of look at BB's that way unless Im shooting indoors, then theres no excuse not to setup some kind of ammo trap. I want one of those magnetic telescoping 'wands' I see some guys with, would sure take the pain out of searching for bb's by hand or with the handle of my frame lol

I don't worry about the BB's. For the price I can afford to shoot 'em and lose 'em. I do feel a little guilty shooting them in the woods though, so I try to stick to clay pellets out there. I don't want to leave little metal treasures for someone else to find 50 yrs. later. My favorite thing about the BB's is the fact I can take a few pot shots here and there about town. I'm an opportunist shooter, and it helps to have a small frame and non-threatening ammo when shooting in an urban environment with a lot of observers.

I hear that man, thats one reason I like shooting frameless: to Joe Average it just looks so harmless. As for the clay pellets I think you know how much I love those in all their varieties lol, heres one thing I heard of some time back I thought was cool: There was a guy making his clay shot with seeds for a core, and would thus plant trees when out plinking in the woods near his home. He would intentionally use seeds that were both non-invasive & helpful to the local ecosystem, or in an area that was somewhat barren. I can't remember for the life of me where I read this so if someone see's this & knows what I'm referring to please chime in.

I've read something similar to that going on in Africa. If I can find the article I'll post under the general section. Sounds like a really cool way to increase your forests and have some fun at the same time.

I am primarily a clay ammo and .177 bb shooter and occasionally use 6mm airsoft indoors. Pretty much every single slingshot I've owned, outside of wrist rockets as a kid, have been banded to shoot bbs at some point. I prefer anything with an outside fork width of about 3 to 3.25 inches for bbs. Naturals are probably my favorite regardless of ammo but I'm also a big fan of the axiom champ, lil plinker, SS jellybean, PP boyshot, and PP ring finger hunter just to name a few for the small stuff.
