Hey everyone hope y'all like my last post were there's a video of me shooting to a new catchbox. I have struggled with types of grip types of slingshot Ott ttf and anchor points and general consistency. I keep making new strides, finally found my Anchor Point about a month ago and I have got that dialed in perfect and I thought that would be what got me too true consistency. I still was having issues I was all around the target by a millimeter or two left, right, up, down, catty corner and I knew it was about my release or the way I was holding the slingshot?? When I switch to the D1 Hammer grip it has fiber optic sights and so I felt like my grip was pretty good because I could see perfectly that the slingshot was in alignment. Even so I was about 50% accurate at 10 yards on a 50 mm spinner. I tried predicting my shot and letting go before I was at the Target which worked a little bit but definitely wasn't where I needed to be and I finally change the Pinch on the ball/pouch. I was holding too deep on my finger. I now am holding right on top of the pointer finger right behind the big knuckle and deep onto my thumb. I can't pull back with it so high up on my index finger without rolling my thumb completely over the ball and the pouch. But once I'm in position with my anchor I open my thumb up until it is pointing away from my index finger and just enough pressure to hold that ball in place and then when I'm ready I just twist my thumb more and it flies straight out!! I got the feel for it right at the end of a shooting session it felt pretty good about my accuracy. When I came back 15 minutes later I shot 6 Dead on shots in a row from the start and just put my slingshot down and said time for a break I am not messing up that feeling! I came back after watching a movie and my consistency is that about 80%!! I shot 25 steel balls and hits 21 of them!?

Very excited I'm going to wait a few days to move down to the 40mm spinner but very happy I finally have everything together and now it's just going to take practice practice practice.

Blessings everyone, it's been since the beginning of March and I'm finally starting to really feel like I've got it. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Cheers

Amen to learning patience! I started sling shooting right as the pandemic hit I knew I need something to do at home without being able to go do all the things I used to do. Turned into something much more and very glad I found something that I can have such a strong focus and learn good life skills.

That's a great description of pouch grip and release!

I find it to be much more finicky than I expected. And I find it may feel like starting over when changing ammo sizes.

You put in a lot of good work, early in your shooting experience.

That should pay lasting dividends!

Thanks Kawkan...I'm finally figuring stuff out I spent a long time with a homemade pinch grip slingshot and I was getting pretty good but my wrist just didn't fit that shape well? Once I went to the Hammer grip it felt like that was my perfect hold. Maybe it's cuz I was a carpenter for so long.

Great to hear man keep it up, one suggestion: when I was watching the other video you posted if you shooting, I meant to add that you should try raising your elbow. When I first got into serious shooting this was a change I made they gave me a great deal more accuracy inconsistency. Hope this helps!
