They shut the water off in the canals. The main canals still have three or four feet of water, but the feeders are down, most of the water being at the far end. Saw quite a few fish that might be 12" out of the water, but I didn't shoot. Waste of time those little guys. Couldn't hit them in three feet of water any way. Phooey.. will keep you posted as I try again. There is a big old catfish with my name on it somewhere out there.

I aint no Ansel Adams either.

Here is my sling bows. I made two 'cause I thought I'd have a pard along, but he's busy working for a living. Mostly built on Bill Hays' ideas. He uses a L shaped strap bolted down and forward so he can attach a reel on it I assume.

After I got the threaded bolt through the handle, I cut a couple sections of gas line just a hair longer than the length needed and screwed everything down tight. Figured it would be easier on the hands. With your 26 - 28 inch draw, you oughta be able to shoot the bigest, badest fish clear through.

Yeah, I've watched that knothead a bunch. He can sure shoot a SS. Watched him this morning with his first attempt to shoot frameless. Of course, he hit the target with the first shot.

I take a piece of parachute cord and run it through the holes of the pouch then knot both ends. Makes a string inside the pouch for the notch. Also there is a plate equipped to hold the arrow across the forks. See Bill Hays product line.

No Chuck I haven't. I have only got into slings about 7 months ago. But I also like to build things, and when I get an interest in something, I go at it like I'm beating snakes! Know nothing about bow hunting or bows for that matter. These canals they have here in the SW are nothing like the canals in the NW. These seem to be laid down in concrete sections and move a lot of water. probably 10ft deep and 25ft across. They pump out of them and the water never goes back in the canal. Leaves the water clean and weed free. It's going to be tough on arrows shooting into those hard bottoms. Going again tomorrow, I'll let you guys know how I fare.

This was an intresting read. =) I want to build a slingbow too but, what tubing are you using vs the weight of the arrow?

Not that scientific for me. Just ordered a couple cheapo daisy slingshots from Amazon and used the tubes on it. Go on utube and watch Bill Hays of pocket predator. He has a video that will show you all you need to get started.
