Happy New Years friends! Figured I would kick the year off with a natural maple, this is another fork that I harvested after hurricane Dorian. The design is highly influenced by @mw_slingshots warrior frames as well as a huge thanks to Len for the tips on roasting. Finished with a hand-rubbed tung oil. I left the handle portion kind of "boxy" as I have a soft spot for the "board cut" kind of look because like many of us that's how I started making frames. Thanks for looking guys, and you all have a fantastic weekend! Wood Natural material Art Eyewear Electric blue

Oh yeah that's a nice one Shane. I like that just toasted look. Seems like it would be warm to the touch. The Sumeike really brings out the color too. A beauty all around my friend! Happy New Year .
Thank you Joe, and thank you for the instructions on the finish! Maple is generally a pretty plain wood with the exception of flame, Birdseye, quilted, and so on, but the roasting really just pops the colour and the grain!

As for the blue bands....my tele is surf blue with a roasted maple neck, so I had to have them match.

Thank you Darrell. Means a lot coming from you! Figured you would like those bands:) when I banded it up I told Alanna "Darrell's gonna love this colour combo" lol

So here's my high fangled, scientific, extremely precise, toasting process......preheat oven to 400F, kids start pulling hair and screaming so you chuck it in and forget about it....while your breaking up the cat fight Dad calls you saying he's in the middle of dropping a big spruce tree and it's leaning hard towards the power lines, as he needs me to rush up with my truck and put a chain around the tree to pull it away. Drop to trees successfully and then get a call 2 hours later from your wife saying "why on earth is there a "stick" in my oven"?!? Tell he to turn the oven off and that's pretty much it.......pretty simple really, just follow those steps and your golden! Or should I say "roasted"

BTW...I LOVE the roasted maple you made me.
