This is the first one of these that I've made.
I have a question before I put the clear finish on it, do I need to cut any groves in the forks so the bands won't slip off?

That came out great! I have two. Neither have grooves and I've never had an issue.

I've actually never seen a conus with grooves. You could be the first and set a new trend!

I would insert grooves on the leading edge, just to be on the safe side - unless of course it affects the intended aesthetics.

I've made a total of three of them, and I cut band grooves on all three . Thats just my preference.

i put band grooves on mine,but omly on the target side,not sure if it really needed them,just makes me feel more comforatable,that is a beautiful Conus for sure

Well my 2 cents I always try them now before finishing just in case the frame not working out the way ya hoped

I make long tag wrap around then fold it over and continue wrapping in my opfs and it does not slip. Also awesome slingshot!!!
