I had some CF sheet laying around the shop so yesterday started to make my first slingshot.

I made a simple design in Fusion 360, then milled out some carbon and G10. I then glued it up and let it sit over night.

Today I cleaned it up a little and here's what I have so far. Still need to do A LOT of shaping, but I think I am going to like it.

It is going to be a small OTT slingshot. It has a 4 mm carbon plate core then a 2 mm CF sheet, 2mm G10 sheet, then finally another 2mm CF sheet, making it 7 layers in total.

I think this is going to be pretty tough to shape!

Finished it up!

I think it turned out kinda decent. I could have shaped it a little more, but it is comfortable to hold and very smooth. Finished it by wet sanding with 500 grit paper, then buffed it with a wheel and buffing compound.

I don't have different bands yet, so I just threw on some bands that I bought when I bought my Scorpion. The bands seem decent, but the pouches are way too small for 7/16". Luckily I have an order from GZK coming in a few days with some band material and pouches.

Understatement of the year, "turned out decent". That catty came out balling, bro that looks slick as heck.

I will agree with Descent+. Joinery is tricky sometimes. Nice finish.

That is a cool looking slingshot.
Does anyone give you funny looks for having carbon fiber "just lying around"? I get funny looks sometimes

Thanks everyone!

I shot it a few times now, but the pouch is definitely too small. I am pretty new to slingshots, so I don't have band material or pouches to make my own yet. I have an order coming from GZK in a week with all the stuff to make my own bands, so I will be good to go then.

I am already thinking of making another one :D

Welcome to the addiction. That's a fantastic slingshot for your first time. Very nicely done.
