The Leaves are down considerable from a rescent rain, a much needed rain I might add. It took some serious power shooting but this is the yield from the first day with the slings of the New Season......... Heavy lead and tubular bands. some of these shots are out past 100 ft. most shots are at the 45 to 65 degree angle.....My cronigraph is showing around 225 FPS.......

Fine bag Frogman. Anybody that can get five in one outing is a Slingshot God, though I am well aware of your other slingshot exploits and this is par for the course. I was wondering if you ever would show up here.

Is there any chance you could share some closeups of your slingshots?

I used a fork cut from a hickory on this hunt. I do also, and probably prefer, a board cut slingshot frame. Heavy tubular bands. This to get the slug way up into the trees with plenty of energy. The slug is cast in my six cast Lee bullet mold. You do need a volume of lead or Steel balls as the squirrel will move on you after every shot. It is .45cal black powder conical sabet. I prefer the conical as it tumbles and ricochets around up there. The round balls don't tumble. The draw weight is pretty heavy: However, after shooting a hundred rounds or so it tends to break in and get sweeter to pull. Still producing plenty of energy on the target.... I am starting to shoot some steel this year as opposed to the past, was strictly lead. I use a 5/8 inch steel ball and like it very much. You need a heavy projectile to properly correspond to the heavy bands. If the projectile is too small it just doesn't shoot well. The shot feels empty and the bands do not get taxed on the release. I will post a picture of my slings when I have more time. If you are interested you can visit my website and see the pics of the tree fork slings. I haven't posted any of the pics of the board cuts, as I just haven't put them on the website. best.........www.primitivesupply.com

Hello Mr. Parker.... You don't know me, but because of an ongoing interest in primitive skills and slingshots, I've enjoyed reading about you for years.
I'm glad you have found your way to the forum......a hearty welcome to you!!!!

It's true that this post should be in the hunting section (no biggie as the mods will move it) and that you must pay to be a vendor...... however, knowing your background (including slingshot shooting).....it is my great hope that you will stick around, become a forum regular and continue sharing your knowledge and experiences with us all!!!!

God Bless,
