Really glad I'm not spending my time searching for the right slingshot. Spend my time at hitting smaller and smaller targets. Not trying this slingshot and that slingshot. Try to sell or trade the latest flavor of the month. Trying this band type this different taper . Thinking because I use it I'll shoot like a Chinese slingshot champion. Shoot this with looped tubes. I can hit anything I want. Get about 1600 shots on a set of tubes. Pick it up when I want to shoot no thinking about what to shoot and just hit my 1 inch spinners all day. What more do I want.?

I suppose the folks who never had the options that we do, got really good with the old nattie forks that was in use then. If you shoot one sling enough, your chances of learning to shoot it with accuracy go way up. On the other hand there are those of us who just can't stand it until they have tried something new. Born tinkers that they are. For them the journey is as enticing as the destination.

Different strokes etc.

Every personality is different and uses this sport to satisfy their own needs. I'm not searching for the 'right' slingshot, but I'm open to trying new ideas and designs just bc it's fun and relatively inexpensive. As a result, my modest collection consists of a wide variety of styles and types that adapt to my ever changing moods and preferences - sometimes flats, other times tubes, but always fun. I'm flexible by nature, so having 30 of the same slingshot would bore me to a coma. No one is 'wrong', it's just different strokes.

I want to be the 'Rambo' of the Slingshot Planet! He could shoot all weapons, fly airplanes or helicopters, and drive any heavy equipment all while blindfolded. I want to be able to pickup ANY banded or tubed frame and hit my target within three shots both left and right handed.

No Need to have 30 of the same slingshot. On is enough to get good with.

And I don't just have 30 of the same slingshots. It's what I choose to shoot. examples of what I choose not to shoot right now.

Even though have my favourites that I shoot most of the time, I do like having another on hand that is different. Collecting slingshots is not the same as the one we want to shoot. For me collecting is about learning about frame design as there are subtleties to learn about. Also, because I love this hobby I want to support those that provide and enable it. It wouldn't be fair for me to only buy from one maker when others are out there, trying to make an honest living as well... To each his own, we make our own choices for personal reasons. My choice isn't better than someone else's because it may not be the right choice for someone else and vice versa.

But... having said that it is a relief to have a "one" frame and stop searching... I am no longer searching, I am just enjoying variety because that is an enjoyment in itself too... not gonna stop collecting variety even though I have my favourites

Hey, 'hitting that one inch spinner all day' sounds like 'Nirvana' to me. Nothing else needed. :)

Honestly for me I get just as much joy tinkering and trading and such as I do hitting one inch spinners. It is the sport and lifestyle as a whole that appeals to me. I know full well that for the most part I can grab any slingshot I own and shoot it for a month and be just as accurate as if I had grabbed the one next to it. But for me variety is the spice of life, I like shooting 1 and 1/4 inch spinners with a bunch of different slingshots more than hitting a 1 incher with the same one over and over.

Fiddling with the pouches, bands and frames is so much of the experience for me too. I like to play with my gear selections and tweak my setups. Werther it is slingshots, video game controllers or edc setups, I am always optimizing my setup for this situation or that. I am sure this seems frivolous to a lot of people but I am comfy with who I am lol :)
