It wasn't even me, I'd been fairly lucky coming from a semi-regular archery back ground with basic accuracy fundamentals enforced by my dad growing up and of course the Marine Corps hammered basic accuracy principles in me. Correct consistency is key. It was a family gathering and I let my wife's uncle shoot my slingshot, and he canted his hand and got a nasty fork strike and busted my bands. It was too late to correct. Luckily I had plenty of spare bands laying about to fix it.

That's a good idea, I'll have to make one for my family and friends to use, that way I don't gotta beat mine up.

Oh, not the Scout LT!! Fortunately they can take a pretty good womping. You can try getting those marks out by wet sanding with a bit of 400, followed 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper. 600 brings it pretty close to the original finish it looks like. (Yeah I totally just sanded on my scout lol).

Also, I most certainly do not want to seem unappreciative. Thank you and all our other military and veterans here for your dedication and service, always.

I didn't take it that way home-skillet. I just brought it up to explain how I managed to not get a fork hit in the past year of shooting, the Marines focusing on form and trigger control has got me doing preliminary checks on form and angle for when I draw my bands back. It was more adding to that point lol

I didnt realize till just now that the Scout has thumb screws as to roughly where you would place your thumb at. I thought it was design to shoot any type of hold pattern you prefer....however i do have larger hands. Maybe just me.
Just today i looked at my band set and found that one more shot and things could have gone in a bad way. Ready to snap right at the pouch. Quick fix...all good.
...and THANK YOU to all who have served!
ps...rock chuckin is a no no

Oh no, I knew what ya meant brother. Just wanted to show my respect. It’s cool how many marksman skills cross over into slinging.

Isn't that what uncles are for?
