Here are two ideas to help w/ grip.
The first is from Vince, who put a pinky lanyards on two of his slingshots that he was kind enough to send me. Interesting that Vince's "rough and ready" build techniques go really well w/ my wrinkled hands. You know you are well into your dotage when your hands are wrinkled!
The second is an idea that I saw on one of the archery forums for a bow sling. The basic idea is a cord w/ two knots, to make two loops. You put the first loop around your wrist. The second loop goes over the slingshot grip and then over your middle or ring finger. It also serves as a lanyard.
Putting the two together makes for a very secure grip.
