I've only been shooting sense February. I started with tubes on gypsy tabs then switched to flat bands attached to the same leather tabs. Last week I laced a shooter up by just tying bands on. I got hand slap almost every time, whereas with the gypsy tabs I never got hand slapped. I think they make the slings look more put together/ neater/ cleaner then tying bands or tubes on.

I put the tabs cause as i am locked down like billons people now, i have time to shoot and i use a lot of bands. So i used a lot of rubber to attach my bands to the fork. Moreover, numerous of my bands failed at the fork (first time i have this issue). I made the tips very smooth, but the bands are breaking early any way.

Well...

I shot with the tabs this morning, and the facts are the facts: it almost solved my hand slap issue, and greatly improved my accuracy.

So, if it does'nt work for everybody, it works for me, and it works well :)

I don't know yet if my bands will live longer, but it could'nt be worse

I like using them for a number of reasons:

1. It looks clean. I may not hit much, but at least my SS can be sharp looking.

2. It's easier to attach. I have so much trouble attaching bands to forks directly, so tabs are easier to measure and put on without getting uneven lengths (IMO).

3. Extends band life. All the stress and friction affect the tabs, not the tubes/bands.

They may decrease accuracy for some, but I'm not nearly accurate enough to worry about that anyway!

I had a sling that. I put flat tabs (no holes, smooth side up) on it and strung it with flats on top of those. I regained the usual band life and started breaking at the pouch again.
