Hi all,

I'm a keen forager so out wandering all the time & wanted a new hobby to go with it so I've taken up shooting slingshot. It works perfectly as I can carry one in my foraging bag.

I would like to build up my ability's now on targets so that in the future I could hunt with it hopefully?

I'm shooting 'The Wipeout' from Suffolk Slingshots (http://www.suffolkslingshots.co.uk/) & my ammo is 9.5mm ballbearings. Aaaand, at the moment I couldn't hit a barn door from two feet away. Practicing everyday though so fingers crossed?

Thanks for having me.

Welcome. Nice to see a steady stream of new members from the UK recently.
Indeed. Otherwise you would have to make do with us "Discount Englishmen"... well there is only one of me here as far as I can tell ... "Discount Englishman".. as people from my country are sometimes called.

Welcome.

Accuracy comes with time, when I started I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from The inside lol where abouts in the UK are you? I'm in berkshire and always looking for opportunitys for meet ups, once this corona crap has passed anyway.

Ah, you're having the old 9.5mm problem. The easy fix for perfect accuracy is to take a file and carefully work all your 9.5 ammo down to 9.4. Take your time and do it right. Make sure every steel ball is perfectly round. Then polish them individually and soak them over a three day period in castor oil. Never fails.

Doesn't hurt to weigh them after sizing! :)

I've done all 1000 I got from eBay last week. It's not made a single bit of difference. I was holding the ball bearing in my left hand & filing with the right & I think this is where I messed up. I'm going to order another 1000 & repeat to myself over & over "keep your balls in your right hand" whilst filing with the left. Thank you so much
