my name is Darren Holman and my son Noah and I have recently gotten into slingshot shooting. He is currently shooting a homemade slingshot I carved and I am trying my hand at the simple-shot scout LT. I have a range in my back yard with a wooden catch box and some hanging targets and cans. We have started about from about 20-25 feet and are making real progress. We watched the videos on Fowler's Makery and Mischief and have just started practicing. I am currently shooting with the forks upright and shooting through the forks. My son is shooting with the fork upright and shooting over the top. We are using clay ammo and shoot daily. We are hoping to go take part in the east coast slingshot tournament in 2021. I am ever open to suggestions and advice. I look forward to interacting with any of you who want to talk.
Sounds like you got the right attitude and set up. Welcome from Indiana. Im an eagle scout from troup 462 in Wanamaker Indiana. I still live by the scout law.
Welcome to the sport. What a great father and son activity and you are learning and improving your skill level together. I see that you are both involved in Scouting, an organization that I was involved in for many years as a child and young adult.
Thanks for the great welcome everyone! We are grateful to have some many cool new mentors. I will try to upload some pictures of the second slingshot I carved for Noah to use. I am open to pointers. I like it and it shoots well.
