Hi folks
Today I made this new model pocket shooter.
It is slimmer in design, and has a wider, and deeper throat, than my previous pockets.
The design of this one is way more forgiving when an errant shot occurs. (it happens).
The wood I used on this particular slingshot is a double center,Poplar, and on the sides, I used Honduran,Rosewood, Stumpwood. The sides are bookmatched, and I think very pretty.
I will put this up on my website...even though I want to keep it (as always)

Hope you all like it.

Beautiful grain and lustre. How to you do your varnish finish? I always struggle with it.
Actually,
I use a spray laquer, and apply multiple coats.
The first coat goes on lightly and seals the wood. When dry, I sometimes use steel wool, and then apply a heavy coat of the stuff, and more if needed when dry.
If using this method, make sure your piece lays flat and level to avoid runs.
