Took a hike this morning where they had just cleared a building site. I came home with a few forks. Oak, cedar and ?. Might be Osage or Hackberry don't know no foliage.

Decided to nuke the smaller ones. The next thing you you know 2 hours and lunch later.

Magically turns into a slingshot.

Good haul!

The fork on the far left definitely looks like Osage. If the wood on the far right fork looks the same, it may be also. Second from left, and maybe some of the smaller forks could be hackberry. The one with dark shaggy bark is probably cedar.

That was the little one. I almost cut the handle too short since I was sizing one of the larger ones. noticed it was there after it fell. it is a great size. The wood has a yellowish color not that bright orange you see on pictures. it is good and solid that is mostly what matters.

That’s a nice batch. I would cut them a bit longer in case of crackin. That biggun on the left is gonna be awesome!
