I was doing some shooting tonight and I decided to try something different just for fun. Now every instructional video I have watched over the years has shown gripping the ball on either side of the pouch. However I decided to try gripping the ball itself on top and bottom with my thumb and middle finger, without touching to pouch. Now, my intuition said that this would cause inconsistency in accuracy. But to my surprise, my accuracy actually increased! I was being more consistent, nearing the target if not hitting it every time.

What do y'all think? I'm sure some of you have tried this. What's your take on it?

I think holding the pouch is more comfortable, but holding the ammo seems to make the pouch less of a variable.

@Island Made for sure that's what I use it for speed shooting.

@ghost0311/8541 I too have done this with the smaller micro fibre pouches and .44 lead.
